Dr. Robert Reich and his wife Anne lead a group of volunteers from the Adams County Sharp Spurs NWTF Chapter to participate in the Salvation Army Christmas Basket program. Representing the Turkey Hunters Care initiative and working in cooperation with the local Quincy Rotary Club, the volunteers handed out 625 turkeys for the holidays to local families in need. This is the 8th annual event for the Adams County Sharp Spurs and their generosity is felt throughout their community. Dr. Reich states, "Any community could participate in this event. Virtually every community has a Rotary Club and/or an NWTF chapter and a Salvation Army group that distributes the turkeys. This should be a model program: a local grocery chain furnishes the refrigerated truck for distribution and the Salvation Army distributes them." The Turkey Hunters Care is certainly an oustanding program that has had a positive impact on communities across the country.
